Abstract

Skibidi-Toilet is a viral media hype that emerged in February 2023. The main character, a toilet bowl with a human head, dances and sings to "Dom Dom Yes Yes" by Bisser King. The videos, created by Alexei Gerasimov, show these toilets in absurd freedom and with witty nonsense, fought by cyborgs with monitors or cameras as heads.

The figure of the double zero, "00", symbolises both disorder and the "licence to kill" and places the nonsensical in the foreground. The videos reflect deeper human and cultural dynamics by staging freedom, nonsense and the unconscious, similar to psychoanalytic practice.

Knellessen calls for breaking through the rigour of psychoanalysis and allowing more joy and freedom. The Skibidi toilets demonstrate that pleasure and nonsense should have a place in everyday life and encourage people to take life more playfully and less seriously.
